The Joeys formed in the early nineties, A Marmite loving collection of Mental Health professionals, they played a subtly polished variant of punk, fast and clever with catchy hopoks and memorable lyrics. Parallels were often drawn to early Undertones, Buzzcocks and the Only Ones. "My Hated Uncle" a Noisebox release received interest and radio plays and some very favourable reviews in the local and national press. The band hhad several releases with Noisebox, all of which received Peel plays.

The band reformed once in about 2002 and did a few gigs, including one at The Coach and Horses in Norwich. The band have reformed again in 2008 and started gigging again locally.Following a suprise headline slot at the Norwich Arts Centre at the end of 2009 the band have been engaged in writing and rehearsing new material ahead of their first recording sessions in over ten years.
