The Ferryboat is an old riverside pub, which features a large venue room to the rear, which used to be the boatroom, The Ferryboat has put on bands for as long as anyone alive can remember, probably since the Stone age or before that even.

In 2006, some people moved up from down south into the new weekend flats over the river, didn't like the noise, complained and the music licence was revoked unless extensive and expensive soundproofing was undertaken, this proved too much for the landlord/promoter and the resulting loss in trade doomed yet another small independent venue and pub. It will probably be "refurbished" into a nice, characterless and expensive wine bar/restaurant very soon.
